Our itinerary in Yemen
Our trip to Yemen was an amazing experience that we still keep in our heart. With its 3000 years of history and traditions, the country was plenty of wonderful landscape ranging from mountain villages with buildings made of stones to fertile wadi rich dotted by hundreds of palm trees, from desert scenarios with high dunes to white beaches bathed by a clear sea. Among the many attractions we visited, there were 2 important UNESCO Heritage sites: the old city of Sanaa with its charming decorated buildings and the impressive Shibam, well known for its high skyscrapers made of mud. Unfortunately, Yemen has been suffering civil war, coups, revolutions and bombings in recent years and the only place where it’s possible to go is the marvellous Socotra Archipelago, a UNESCO Heritage site thanks to its virgin nature and fantastic pristine and untouched sandy beaches.
