Coron island escapade day tour

After we enjoyed the most beautiful spots of Coron with the “super ultimate day tour, we decided to do the Coron island escapade day tour. It includes the visit of 3 beautiful beaches in the bay of Coron: Malgapuya Island, Banana Island and Bulog Dos Island.  The trip is delightful as these islands are amazing, but they are far away. The 3 islands are close to each other and to reach them it takes about 2 hours by boat from Coron town. The price is about 1700 pesos and includes an English speaking guide and the lunch buffet. We booked the tour with the web platform Klook.com.

After two hours ride onboard the Calamian travel and tour boat, we finally reach Malgapuya Island, said to be the best longest sandy beach in Coron. It’s worth the ride as the beach is fantastic. With its secluded appeal, this long white powdering sandy beach is fringed by palm trees, a small rocky hill and bathed by an incredible crystal clear sea. There s the chance to snorkel in a protected area plenty of corals and tropical fish with a short boat ride (it costs 100 pesos). The island is also the stop for the buffet lunch.

The second stop is Banana Island that owes the name to its banana leaf shape. The white sandy beach is ideal for relaxing under a palm tree and swimming in the shallow clear sea. There is a private resort on the island, so, in case you d like to escape the crowd, a good idea could be to stay some days here.

The last stop before heading back is Bulog Dos Island. Our guide tells us that “Bulog” means bald, and it describes the shape of the mound in the middle of the island that resembles a bald head. With the low tide, there is a sand bar that links Bulog with the neighbouring island where a private resort is located.
