A refreshing stop in the emerald water of the Bimmah Sinkhole
Leaving the Wadi Shab or before getting there, you should stop at Hawiyat Najm Park to see or have a swim in the Bimmah Sinkhole, a naturally water-filled depression in the limestone of the ground.
This 40 meters wide and 20-meter deep cavernous hole is a marvellous piece of nature and is filled with amazing emerald-green water. Even though a local legend says that it was formed by a meteorite fallen in this place (Hawiyat Najm means “the falling star“), it was caused by the limestone erosion and the collapse of the rocks.
