Need to Know
When to go: all year round but the best seasons are spring and autumn to avoid the strong heat of the summer. We visited Jordan in December and it was mostly sunny, a bit cold during the early morning and at night (above all at Dana Reserve and Petra).
Mean of transport: rental car. At Amman International Airport there are several rental companies; We booked our car with rentalcars.com.
Food: local restaurant for dinner (half board in Dana and Petra) and grocery shopping at market for lunch. If you need more info about Jordanian restaurants, check TripAdvisor reviews.
Currency exchange: at Alawneh Exchange in Amman (on K. Talal street). It also possible to withdraw from ATM.
Travel insurance: we never leave without an insurance since it’s the most important thing when traveling. We got our comprehensive protection with WorldNomads.
Guide book: our favorite is Lonely Planet.
