The marvellous Porto Taverna beach
The beach of Porto Taverna, on the magnificent background of the island of Tavolara, which makes the landscape wonderful and unique, is characterized by more than 1 km of fine white sand, making it a stop not to be missed. It is bathed by a crystalline sea with beautiful shades of blue and has a shallow and sandy seabed perfect for relaxing and cooling off during the hot summer days. There is a pond behind the beach that can be visited thanks to a wooden walkway that crosses it. Usually, during the summer season, the pond is inhabited by sea birds and fantastic pink flamingos.
How to reach Porto Taverna beach
IThe intersection to get to Porto Taverna is located on the SS 125, 15 km from Olbia and 10 km from the popular San Teodoro. Coming from Olbia, right after the town of Loiri Porto San Paolo, you will find the junction on your left. in front of the beach, you’ll find pay parking. The beach has two bars, sunbeds and umbrellas rental services, pedal boat and dinghy rental, and, above all, one of our favourite restaurants, the 12.1 restaurants.
Where to sleep
If you look for a quieter town, but still close to all the most beautiful beaches in the area, Loiri Porto San Paolo is definitely a good choice. Here, you will find apartments for rent, B&Bs and hotels at a good price too. Do not miss a walk in the small Porto San Paolo harbour where you will also find some restaurants and bars where you can spend a pleasant evening.
